VideoPPT 1.7.23

VideoPPT Editor's Review

VideoPPT is an office tool designed to help you convert PowerPoint presentations into video content. The program allows you to turn your presentations into WMV (Windows Media), AVI (Audio Video Interleave), FLV (Flash Video) or SWF (Shockwave Flash Video) files.

The conversion process is structured into a five step wizard. The output file options are limited to a few basic settings, but, as a compensation, you can use the program without having to install MS PowerPoint on your computer.

Provided the intuitive user interface, using the program is very simple: first, you need to choose a presentation to be converted and the format of the output file. Next, you can choose the settings for the output file, such as: size, duration and aspect ratio. After displaying a summary of the the pending operation, the process will be started. Conversions to SWF and FLV may take longer than conversions to AVI or WMV.

Pluses: You can use the program even without prior installation of MS PowerPoint.

Drawbacks / flaws: During the conversion process, the program window will stay on top of the screen. The computer may slow down as well, so it's advisable to take a short break. Batch processing is not supported.

In conclusion: A good program, but the way I see it, it lacks some features in order to be a truly complete PowerPoint to video converter.
